Description

Job Summary:

• Assist with the planting, potting, and transplanting of nursery stock, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and ornamental plants. Ensure proper spacing, depth, and soil conditions for optimal growth.
• Remove weeds from nursery beds and containers to prevent competition for nutrients and space. Monitor plants for signs of pests or diseases and report any issues to supervisory staff. Assist with the application of pesticides or biological controls as directed.
• Prune and shape plants to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. Remove dead or diseased branches, flowers, or foliage. Clean and maintain nursery facilities, including greenhouse structures, pathways, and equipment.
• Assist with the propagation of plants through techniques such as seed sowing, cutting, grafting, and division. Prepare propagation materials, including soil mixes, pots, trays, and rooting hormones.
• Provide assistance and information to customers shopping for plants at the nursery. Answer questions about plant care, suitability for specific growing conditions, and landscaping ideas. Assist with loading plants into customer vehicles as needed.
• Assist with inventory control activities, including receiving shipments, tagging plants, and organizing stock according to size, species, and other criteria. Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Perform various general labor tasks as assigned, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects such as bags of soil, pots, and plant containers. Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks. Follow safety protocols to pre
