Role Overview:

As an Associate QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products through manual and automated testing. You will work closely with the development team to identify issues, create test plans, execute tests, and report bugs. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a passion for ensuring a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and identify test scenarios.

2. Develop and execute test cases, both manual and automated, to verify software functionality, performance, reliability, and security.

3. Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not adversely affect existing functionality.

4. Document and prioritize defects found during testing, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.

5. Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

6. Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

7. Communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

2. Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.

3. Experience with test case design, execution, and defect tracking.

4. Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.

5. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

8. Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

2. Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.

3. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

4. Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

5. Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE are a plus.
