Description

Job Purpose

• Plan and deliver engaging French language lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning standards.
• Teach students appropriate to year/grade levels (beginner to advanced where applicable).
• Develop students’ communication skills in French through interactive and experiential learning.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Integrate technology and modern teaching strategies into lessons.
• Monitor and assess student progress and provide timely feedback.

• Set, mark, and grade classwork, homework, projects, and examinations.
• Maintain accurate student records and grades.
• Prepare academic reports and attend parent–teacher meetings.

• Establish a positive, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
• Promote student engagement, motivation, and discipline in line with school policy.
• Support the emotional and social development of students.

• Participate in departmental and school meetings, training, and professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school initiatives and activities.
• Contribute to language-related events such as clubs, competitions, or cultural activities.
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety guidelines.

• Bachelor’s Degree in French Language, Education, Linguistics, or related field (Teaching qualification preferred).
• Teaching certification/license where required.
• Minimum 2–3 years teaching experience (experience in an international school is an advantage).
• Native or near-native proficiency in French.
• Proficiency in English for communication within the school.

• Strong subject knowledge and passion for language teaching.
• Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Culturally sensitive and supportive of diverse learners.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
