Position Overview:
The Licensed Dietician is responsible for providing evidence- based nutritional assessment, counseling, and diet therapy to patients in accordance with clinical requirements and regulatory standards. The role involves working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized nutrition plans that support patient health, recovery, and disease management.
The ideal candidate will be a DOH- licensed Dietician, with strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and a patient- centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Nutrition & Patient Care
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatients and outpatients, considering medical history, lab results, and dietary needs.
Develop individualized diet plans for patients with acute or chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, renal disease, cardiovascular disorders, obesity, oncology).
Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and caregivers on healthy eating, weight management, and lifestyle modifications.
Monitor patient progress and adjust dietary plans as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to integrate nutrition care into overall treatment plans.
Diet Planning & Documentation
Prepare and update meal plans for hospital wards, clinics, or specialized programs.
Maintain accurate patient records, including dietary assessments, progress notes, and nutrition reports in the hospital system.
Ensure all documentation meets DOH, DHA, or MOH compliance requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits.
Education & Training
Conduct nutrition education sessions and awareness programs for patients, families, and hospital staff.
Stay updated on the latest research, dietary guidelines, and best practices in clinical nutrition.
Mentor and guide junior dieticians, interns, or nutrition assistants when required.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies during all patient interactions.
Comply with Department of Health (DOH) licensing regulations and standards for dietetics practice.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction programs related to nutrition services.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid DOH (Department of Health, Abu Dhabi) Dietician License.
Minimum 2–4 years of clinical dietetics experience, preferably in hospitals or healthcare facilities.
Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and therapeutic diets.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and counseling skills.
Proficiency in hospital information systems and documentation.
Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
